Project in the framework of 200 years anniversary of Theodor Fontane (The autor of βEffie Bristβ) during the residency in Ganzer, Brandenburg in summer 2019. Part of group show βGlΓΌcklich unterwegs...und frei!β
In the classic novels of the late 19th century, the plot of a woman suffering within the framework of the patriarchal society goes as a clear line through the work of most famous writers. While the esteemed thinkers subconsciously feel the need for change in society, impressionist artists merge the image of a woman together with flowers and beautiful landscapes. In the project βI'm waiting for a train,β Iβm reminding the fatal outcome of women's fate (Effie Brist, Madame Bovary, Anna Karenina) through the lens of post-feminism and grotesque imitation of the masters of impressionism.
